    Giant-Size X-Men #1 vs X-Men #94: which is the key?

Both. Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May 1975) introduces the new team — first appearances of Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus and Thunderbird — and is the more valuable book. X-Men #94 (August 1975) is the first regular issue of the new team, the first issue written by Chris Claremont, and the start of the run that made the X-Men Marvel's best-selling franchise. Collectors treat Giant-Size #1 as the first appearance key and #94 as the first-issue key.
