Who we are

Rare Comics Collectors, LLC is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and in our store.

What we collect

  • Order information — name, billing and shipping address, email, phone number and order history.
  • Service information — the books you submit, declared values, grade estimates and appraisal records.
  • Account information — email address and a hashed password, if you create an account.
  • Technical information — IP address, browser type and pages viewed, in aggregate.
  • Correspondence — messages you send us and our replies.

We never see or store your full card number. Card details are captured directly by our payment processor; we receive only the last four digits and an authorisation token.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with:

  • Payment processors, to take payment.
  • Carriers, to deliver your order.
  • Grading companies, where you have asked us to submit your books.
  • Our accountants and insurers, where legally required.

We do not sell personal information, and we never have. We do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers.

How long we keep it

  • Order and service records: seven years, for tax and insurance purposes.
  • Account data: until you delete the account, then 30 days.
  • Marketing consent records: until withdrawn, plus three years as proof of consent.
  • Packing photographs: twelve months.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you may ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Delete your data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
  • Stop using it for marketing.
  • Export it in a portable format.

Email hello@rarecomicscollectors.com with “Data request” in the subject line. We respond within 30 days and we do not charge for it. We will never penalise you for exercising these rights.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will post any change here and update the date at the top. Material changes are also emailed to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect.
