Characters
Iron Man first appeared in Tales of Suspense #39, cover-dated March 1963, in a story plotted by Stan Lee, scripted by Larry Lieber, drawn by Don Heck, with a cover by Jack Kirby. Tony Stark builds the first, grey armour to escape captivity in Vietnam. The armour turned gold in #40 and became the familiar red and gold in #48 (December 1963), designed by Steve Ditko.

Riri Williams' first full appearance is Invincible Iron Man #9, cover-dated May 2016, by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato, after a cameo in Invincible Iron Man #7 (March 2016). The fifteen-year-old MIT student who builds her own armour took the name Ironheart in the relaunched Invincible Iron Man #1, released in November 2016.
